Grounded on the Dutch Coast.

Wijk aan Zee, January 21 2012, 11.15 am

Philippine cargo ship MV Aztec Maiden  (length 155 m, width 24 m) ran ashore the coast on Wijk aan Zee with engine failure. The captain tried to anchor, but could not prevent the ship run aground the coast. The lifeboat was quickly on the spot but could not offer more help. On Friday at high tide two tugs from Svitzer tried to pull the vessel off the sandbank, without results. Saturday the salvage company Svitzer used a tug and a coast guard tug Levoli Black. At 5.00 pm the tugs managed to pull the ship free.
